Pool, Open Water & Virtual Swims

Swimmers belong to Masters for the wealth of benefits that come from our sport. Whether for the simple joy of disciplined workouts or the intensity and challenge of spirited competition, opportunities are plentiful throughout the year.

Clubs offer structured practices and attentive coaching that prepares members to participate in the variety of activities and events, from racing in pools, to competing in the alluring open waters of the region, or testing your capabilities in virtual competitions. Look to the events schedule/calendar to see all that is offered.

Pool Competition
Local, regional and national meets are conducted throughout the year in 25 yard, 25 meter, and 50 meters pools. See https://www.pacificmasters.org/page.cfm?pagetitle=Pool+Competition to lean about pool swimming courses and seasons.

Open Water Competition
Open water swimming is one of the joys of living in this region. We are graced with an abundance of beautiful rivers, lakes and reservoirs as well as the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean.

Virtual Events
Pacific Masters holds several special competitions throughout the year where one swims in the designated event in the pool of their choice. Results are submitted on-line. Current Pacific Masters virtual events include the Davis Masters Brute Virtual (November) and the 400 Kick for Time (December). National events can be found at https://www.usms.org/events/fitness-events
