Ad hoc World Wide Web-Michael Moore

The Web Page continues to get hit a lot. There were about 800 hits during the past month. Average transfer is about 1.5 megabytes a day.

Pacific Swimming USS has anew web site its address is http://www.pacswim.org.

The results of the Berryessa Swim are on the Web.

One swimmer emailed a request to put up a running total of the Open Water Swimmer of the year. It would require getting all of the information in a standard format and then computing it. The calculation are now done by hand. Keeping running tally at this point is not realistic.

Ad hoc Convention-Julie Paque
Doug Huestis looked into dinner cruise for convention delegates. He contacted two Companies. Both would require about 150 people, so I do not think that that is feasible.

Alan Levinson is still looking at an Open Water swim at convention. Looking at two possibilities one being a swim in the Bay, maybe something around Alcatraz or the Golden Gate or something around Coyote Point. Alan would like to get a copy of the tide table to work on the open water swims.

We can advertise a swim, and put out a flyer at convention with a questionnaire asking where the delegates would like to swim. There was a discussion about what time to have the swim. Factors to consider being the early morning is the best time for swimming on the bay, the time of the USMS board of directors meeting and that many delegates may t want to fly out early in the morning since flying to the east coast is an all day affair.
